The focus is on the person, not on the disease; the well-being of clients is central. In this work, Fredrike Bannink and Nicole Geschwind add an even more technical, now academic, view of positive cognitive behavioral therapy, obtained through an experimental study using qualitative methodology.
The authors bring two theoretical-practical protocols (for individual and group application), organized in sessions, in which the reader can observe the course of a positive CBT treatment for clients diagnosed with major depression. In addition to the protocols, this book presents results that prove that the relationship between CBT and positive psychology works, and forms a combination that can lead to an efficient therapeutic process. The skills learned in this work will certainly improve the practice of mental health professionals.
